Anchor on Collins Retro is located at Fairfax House, which is a grand five storey Victorian building, dating back to 1880. In the 19th century, its original owners were a branch of a company formed about the time of Cook’s voyage to Australia. It has superb solid walls, nearly a metre thick and rare and thick 30mm Kauri pine floors. 

It was originally built for Briscoe & Co ironmongers and hardware merchants. For some 30 years, Fairfax Company occupied the building and saw the publication of famous Australian papers such as Financial Review. It was also the birthplace of the Business Review Weekly. 

It is fair to say that this building is located at the very heart of Melbourne CBD; not because it was built at the city center but more because the entire Melbourne city was built around this building. 

What you have inside this completely renovated and refurbished apartment is a large lounge room, 3 bedrooms (or two large lounge rooms and two bedrooms), kitchen, laundry and two bathrooms. 

The apartment features gourmet kitchen complete with microwave, fridge, gas stove, electric oven and much more, adjacent to the kitchen is a large open plan living/dining area. On the other side of the kitchen is two back to back bedrooms followed by a powder room. Next to the large lounge and dining area is the second terrace lounge, which can be used as third bedroom. Next to this is a central bathroom with shower room. Laundry facilities include a washing machine, dryer and ironing board. The entire apartment is fully equipped to and immaculately furnished.

Features include reverse cycle air conditioning, granite bench tops, security entrance, 50 inch TV and free WiFi. 

 

BED ARRANGEMENT: 

The two bedrooms each has queen sized beds. The 3rd bedroom has a double sized pull-out sofa bed. Additionally the main lounge room has a pull-out single sofa bed. The apartment is listed for 4 people stay, but it can accommodate up to 6-people. Extra cost applies for additional guests over 4.

 This simply amazing, as new, large and spacious 2 1/2 bedroom apartment, situated on top of Spencer Street in the chic Mondriane residential complex. Be spoilt by the sensational views, from the city skyline across to the deep blue of the Bay. Unbelievably close view to the Etihad stadium from the top - this place should be on the bucket list of every AFL Footie fan!

 

Apartment features gourmet kitchen complete with microwave, fridge, gas stove, electric oven and much more, adjacent to the kitchen is a large open plan living/dining area. Adjoining the living/dining area is a wrap-around balcony, providing exceptional panoramic 270 degree views and light. 

 

There are two spacious bedrooms with built in cabinets and a third smaller bedroom, all immaculately furnished. There is also a stylish central bathroom with large shower room, toilet and vanity.  A separate full fledged laundry are also available, including a washing machine, dryer and ironing board. 

 

Features reverse cycle air conditioning, marble bench tops, security entrance, 50 inch TV. The indoor swimming pool and gymnasium is located on the 25th floor and the views from the pool have to be seen to be believed! Amazing.......

The owners will make every effort to ensure the property is available as booked. However the owners reserve the right to make alterations to bookings due to unforeseen circumstances.

To maintain a good standard for our guests we require certain conditions to be complied with. We appreciate most will respect our property but the occasional abuse requires that we state the following conditions.

Number of Guests should not exceed the number stated on the Confirmation Notice or subsequently agreed in writing or email. Fees will apply for excess guests not agreed with the owners in advance.

Any extra guests booked over the normal capacity for the unit will reduce the level of privacy.

Parties and Functions are strictly prohibited. The price charged is for domestic use only and not commercial. Accordingly this rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions in terms of cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc. Use contrary to this may result in loss of your bond and/or additional payments.

Damage, Breakages, Theft and Loss are the tenants’ responsibility during their stay.

Departure - the property should be left in a similar state to its condition on arrival. Check-out time is 10:00 by the latest, to allow time to prepare property for next guests.

Disturbance to our neighbours, including excessive noise, is prohibited and may result in termination of rental and loss of bond.

Advance booking and payment required for reserving car space. Car size restriction apply (2 m in Height, 2.2 m in Width and 5.2 m in Length). We may not be able to accommodate larger vehicles.

 Security bond A$ 500 is payable at the same time as the balance amount, both of which are due at least 28 days prior to arrival date. If this amount is not received in time, the owner has the right to cancel the booking and attempt to re let it. This bond will be refunded within 14 days in full subject to the above conditions being met. It is designed to cover any additional costs incurred including but not limited to, any breakage, damage or excess cleaning requirements, extra guests beyond those declared ..etc.

Pets are not allowed unless specific arrangements have been made in writing with the owner.

Loss - the owners take no responsibility for the tenant's personal property.

Variations to these conditions may only be made by prior arrangements with the owner in writing.


Cancellation Policy

50% of the total booking costs will apply as cancellation fees, if a booking is cancelled over 30 days prior to arrival date.

100% of the total booking costs will apply as cancellation fees, if a booking is cancelled under 30 days prior to arrival.

My partner and I had a lovely long weekend away at Anchor's property in Melbourne. The apartment was exactly as description, the communicated well with instructions and how to receive the keys. The place is centrally located in Melb CBD with free trams nearby, and as a bonus it is right across the road from Southern Cross Train Station. I would recommend 's place and hope to stay again when next in Melb.

I couldn't chose a better place to stay for my first week in Melbourne. Best location in the heart of the city, in front of bus/train station, supermarket, shopping outlet, and more. The apartment is fully equipped. Anais has been a kind host, she helped me and gave me advice about everything I needed to do for the first days in Melbourne. She is caring and lovely. last but not least, view from balcony is outstanding! Amazing!
